28. San Calixto
San Calixto or the Great Hurricane is known as a tropical cyclone of the enormous power, which occured in the autumn of 1780 at the Caribbean archipelago. According to the official data, 22 thousand people died. The hurricane passed through Haiti and destroyed up to 95% of all buildings. The huge tidal waves that caused the storm could reach 22-26 feet in height.
